Transience
…we come and we go.

“Recently I have been working on portraits and my time in Milkwood I will be to concentrate on the comings and goings of the community surrounding it.  I will offer quick portraits to the patrons of Milkwood keeping a carbon copy for the Gallery. I have begun a continuous study of the faces around me. I also intend to draw and paint the workers of Milkwood ….as they come and go through the week.”

Painter and photographer Rachel McLaughlin will be documenting the everyday comings and goings of a fortnight at Milkwood Gallery for this Basement Project…Customers and visitors are invited to take part by having their portrait taken. Rachel will work on these in the basement and the resulting paintings and photos will be put on sale amongst Milkwood’s regular stock from Friday 13th at 6pm alongside the Cut Click exhibition in our main gallery.

If you’ve got 5 minutes to spare, drop by and offer up your portrait! Rachel will be producing as many portraits as possible before the exhibition opens.
